Back to Nature 2004 Trailblazer District Fall Camporee Where: Stanley ­ Fandry Park When: September 17 ­ 19 Who: All Trailblazer Boy Scout Troops Cost: $5 before September 7, 2004; $7 after September 7, 2004 This Year's Fall Camporee is following the theme of "Back to Nature". A combination of sports activities and outdoor events will be held. Activities include: Canoeing, Rowing, Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Orienteering, Swimming, (weather decided), Nature, Fishing (license required). As usual, the District will be following the Leave No Trace principles of no ground fires. Fires are allowed, however. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning with program starting at 8:45. Yes, Friday night arrivals are welcome. However, the troop/patrol will be on its own and responsible for itself. Noon lunch and supper will be by Troop/Patrol with dessert bake off after supper for whoever wants to attend. Saturday night campfire will include skits, songs, etc. by our scouts. Please plan for a large amount of fun! Sunday morning will have a non-denominational church service before having a flag retiring ceremony. After the flag ceremony departure for home will start. As in the past, a fair amount of volunteer Scout leaders will be needed to man the various stations and events. Please contact the District planning committee to offer your assistance in this event. Volleyball and basketball will be either 3 man or 4 man teams depending on how many boys/adults register. Pre-registration as a team is a must! Tournament play will be running and teams need to be bracketed. The first place team will receive a trophy. Saturday night supper is to include Dutch Oven dessert cook off. The judges have fasted all the summer and are hungry to taste some great desserts! Please plan on creating a dessert, which could feed 10 scouts. Equipment to bring: Canoeing and Rowing- Personal life jackets are required. Fishing area- fishing pole, tackle, LICENSE. Softball-glove and your favorite hitter.
