Benjamin John Arneberg will receive the Eagle Award in a Court of Honor ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, 531 E. South Ave., Chippewa Falls. The public is invited. This marks the first time any Scout from Troop 72 has earned this honor. Arneberg, son of Tom and Beth Arneberg, is a Junior at Chi-Hi, where he plays tennis and basketball, and is a trumpet player in the Marching Cardinals. He is also involved in his church youth group, and works part time at the Rutledge Home. Ben has served in the positions of Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and is currently Senior Patrol Leader of the troop. He has led the troop in six camping adventures since May, including two backpack trips, a canoe trip, and a bicycle trip. For his Eagle project, Ben spearheaded a team of workers who blazed a new one-mile section of the Ice Age Trail near Cornell in May 2005, working under the direction of Richard Smith, Director of the Ice Age Park and Trail foundation.
