PRESS RELEASE

Jackson Blake to be awarded Eagle Scout rank

Eagle Court of Honor scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2024

The highest award from the Boy Scouts of America -- the rank of Eagle Scout -- will be awarded Monday, July 8, 2024, to a Scout in Troop 72 of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Jackson Blake, 18, will receive the Eagle Award in a Court of Honor ceremony at 6:30 p.m. that Monday at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, 531 E. South Ave, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. All are welcome.

Jackson is the son of Mike and Kelly Blake of Chippewa Falls. He is a 2024 graduate of "Chi-Hi" (Chippewa Falls Senior High School) where he was active in marching band, swimming, and tennis.

Jackson was nominated by the social studies department to represent Chi-Hi at the American Legion's 2023 Badger Boys State.

In Scouting, Jackson has led the troop on several campouts during his term as Senior Patrol Leader, the highest position in the troop, and has also held the positions of Scribe, Bugler, and Patrol Leader while participating in THIRTY-SIX (36) different campouts during his seven years with the troop.

In addition to those campouts, Jackson attended summer camp at L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation for five years, and participated in the troop's grueling 12-day, 72-mile high-altitude backpacking adventure at Philmont in New Mexico. Jackson is a member of The Order of the Arrow (Scouting's National Honor Society).

For his Eagle project, Jackson led a team of Scouts in clearing a new trail through the woods at Erickson Park, the newer park next to Irvine Park on Glen Loch.

Jackson works hard outside school: he's been employed at Walmart for two years, and is getting a second job at Kwik Trip this summer, along with starting his own lawn service, "College Mowing."

The public is invited to the Court of Honor Monday.
