On June 2-4, 2006, boys from
Troop72.com
of the Boy Scouts of America spent another great weekend camping
on Scout Island.
Due to schedule conflicts and flooding, it had been THREE YEARS
since they've enjoyed this wonderful spot on the Chippewa River.
The weather was spectacular -- moonlit nights, sunny days, and
warm water. There was plenty of wood to chop, and many new boys
earned their
"Totin' Chip" in the ax yard. (We had SIX brand new boys on
this campout!) Mr. Robb even brought two
kayaks to let the boys try out a new way to paddle! Thanks to
Troop 13 for letting us use their island! (Note: I tried using
my lens hood on my
FZ30 for most of these...not sure whether it made a
difference, but thought I'd try it.)
