Troop 72 backpacking the Superior Hiking Trail, 2006

Troop72.com once again backpacked the awesome Superior Hiking Trail on the North Shore of Lake Superior, August 17-20, 2006. Reader's Digest calls this one of the "Five Best Hikes in America"! We had a new record number for a backpack trip -- ELEVEN boys and four men! This year we hiked ten miles from "Mike's Rock" north to Gooseberry Falls State Park. We camped along the Gooseberry River in the middle.

Here are a some photos I took with my FZ20 digital camera. You may notice that some photos are blurry on the left side -- that's because this is my old, damaged backup camera. My newer FZ30 suddenly stopped working and is in for repairs. Sorry about the lack of clarity in some of these shots, but I figured it's better than nothing. - Tom Arneberg (toma@arneberg.com)
