Philmont 2010: Day 2: Anasazi Philmont 2010: Day 2: Base Camp -> Anasazi

During July 15-30, 2010, twelve lucky Scouts and dads (a full crew) from Troop72.com in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin embarked on a great adventure: PHILMONT! Here are a some photos I took with my FZ50 camera.

This page of photos are from the Day 2 at Philmont. We were stuck at base camp until 1:30 p.m. due to the bus schedules, but we took advantage of that extra time and toured the "Villa," the home of Waite Phillips. It was a great tour! We finally got hiking on the trail about 2:30 p.m., and soon came upon the famous T-Rex footprint, the only one in the world. After we got to the trail camp at Anasazi, our ranger taught us the "Philmont Way" with bear bags, dining fly, pack line, cooking, and cleaning (including "human sumping").
