Philmont 2010: Day 3: Anasazi -> Indian Writings

During July 15-30, 2010, twelve lucky Scouts and dads (a full crew) from Troop72.com in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin embarked on a great adventure: PHILMONT! Here are a some photos I took with my FZ50 camera.

This page of photos are from Day 3 at Philmont. We left Anasazi trail camp at 8:00 a.m., after getting more training on cooking and cleaning. It was another very short day to Indian Writings, where we got a tour of petroglyphs from a thousand years ago (450-1100 A.D.)! Then we participated in a real archealogical dig (of an 1800s pioneer cabin). After supper the Scouts competed in an Indian Jones skit contest. A personal highlight for me was running into my old Scout troop, Troop 266 from Roseville, Minnesota!
