Philmont 2010: Day 4: Indian Writings -> Ponil

During July 15-30, 2010, twelve lucky Scouts and dads (a full crew) from Troop72.com in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin embarked on a great adventure: PHILMONT! Here are a some photos I took with my FZ50 camera.

This page of photos are from Day 4 at Ponil. We left Indian Writings by 6:30 a.m., eating breakfast on the trail. (Who ever said you can't eat instant oatmeal right out of the packet?) We endured our first difficult hiking of the trek, reaching the summit of Hart Peak, where we saw some great views, including our first glimpse of Mt. Baldy from the trail! Ponil was a great cowboy town, where the boys went on a two-hour horseback ride in the canyons. We also branded belts, hats, boots, and even sunglasses!
