On August 20-22, 2010,
Troop72.com hosted their first-ever
district camporee, a 52-mile bike ride. Four different troops camped
out Friday night at
Chippewa Valley Bible Church in
Chippewa Falls. Saturday they all rode 26 miles of the Old Abe Trail
to Brunet Island State Park north of Cornell, Wisconsin, camped out
there, and rode back Sunday.
In addition to camping, biking, and cooking, the Scouts also held a flag retirement ceremony at the park open to the public, and performed an hour of service cleaning up the waterfront. Here are a some photos I took with my FZ50 camera. - Tom Arneberg (toma@arneberg.com) |
