On January 27-29, 2012, the Scouts of
Troop72.com got together with several
other troops in the "Glacier's End" and "Tall Oaks" districts for the
annual Klondike Derby
at L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation in Northern
Wisconsin. We had a great time with about 150 participants making up
17 different sled teams.
Several of our Scouts and Scouters slept outside, with the temperature
dipping to about 4 degrees F on Saturday night. Congrats to Dave Linse
for masterminding another extravaganza, and special kudos to Jasper
Arneberg for being the event Senior Patrol Leader, the youth in
charge of the whole thing, in his very last campout as a Boy Scout.
