Troop 72 at Philmont 2014: Day 9
June 27 through July 11, 2014, the Scouts of Troop72.com embarked on the greatest adventure in Scouting: PHILMONT!

Day 9 (7/06/14): Cypher's Mine to Cimarroncito (elev. 8144)

We left Cypher's Mine and toured Waite Phillips's hunting lodge on the way to Cimarroncito, which was the favorite campsite of most of us. First, it had ROCK CLIMBING WALLS! Not to mention HOT SHOWERS!! We all cleaned up and even washed our clothes, which dried quickly in the dry air. We also saw our first REAL LIVE BEAR walking near our campsite. Most of us also took a five-mile side hike to the Ute Gulch Commissary replenish our food for the rest of the trip.
